Overview

I am available for mediation, arbitration, and consulting engagements.

During my forty year plus career, I have represented private and public clients in major litigation. Although some matters need to be litigated, the process imposes wear and tear upon the parties as well as risks. As a result, mediation or arbitration may be a preferable alternative. My mission is to bring a practical, problem solving approach to legal disputes based upon a solid understanding of the facts and law of a particular matter and the needs and interests of the parties.

I am also available to provide consulting services. Such engagements come in many shapes and sizes and are customized to meet the contours of the problem presented.

In my professional career, I have acquired a variety of appellate and civil litigation experiences, including briefing and arguing four cases before the United States Supreme Court, representing the State of Iowa in tobacco litigation, and engaging in a diverse employment law practice. I currently teach at the Drake University Law School.

Below is a summary of my past professional and educational background. Information about hourly rates and other business matters available upon request.
